Join the "Light Fighters" of the 7th Infantry Division in WWII as they combat the elements and the enemy from the icy Aleutians Islands to the isolated Kwajalien Atoll, to steamy tropical jungle mountains of Leyte, then Ryukus, and on to Okinawa.

The book contains a rare detailed account of the Division's difficult battle for the Pacific atolls of KWAJALEIN, ROI, and NAMUR, as well as exciting first-person accounts of close combat on Leyte, Okinawa, and during the Korean War.

The "Light Fighters" then battled to save Korea, and finally back to the tropics into Panama. Assembled with the help of the 7th Infantry Division Veterans Association, this volume presents the proud history of the Light Fighters.

Casualties... WWII: 2,340 KIA, 6,872 WIA. Korean War: 3,927 KIA, 10,858 WIA, 22 MIA, 341 POW. Panama: 4 KIA, 3 WIA.
