This large format colorfully illustrated new book gives a detailed history of 507th PIR for the first time. It draws particularly on the recollections of veterans of the regiment, together with many photographs published here for the first time. The 507 PIR's heroic engagements from Normandy, to the Ardennes and finally to the battle of the Ruhr Pocket are all covered in great detail. This extra large volume follows the 507th PIR from a test platoon to intense training at Fort Benning, to its disasterous D-Day parachute drop with the 82nd, and the small unit battles that followed. Reassigned to the 17th Airborne, the 507th was thrown into the fire of the Bulge ultimately fought its way through the heavily defended Ruhr Pocket. Written in both English and French. Contains unit rosters and photos
