Click to EnlargeP2V Neptunes served the U.S. Navy well from the end of WWII up until about the end of the Vietnam War. Designed to replace Lockheed's WWII Anti-Submarine Warfare planes, the PV-1 Ventura and PV-2 Harpoon, the Neptunes provided greater range and performance, and their larger size accomodated more electronic and magnetic sensor equipment, and various weapon systems. This excellent book gives a narrative and photographic history of the P2V, with many action photos of P2V's on patrol. Includes full-color plates showing various paint schemes. A great book for aviation buffs, P2V vets, modelers, and students of naval history. Softcover with 100+ photos and drawings
