The USS INDIANAPOLIS CA-35 participated in numerous battles including Pearl Harbor, Aleutian Islands, Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Asiatic-Pacific Raids, Mariana Islands, and many other sea confrontations. She was torpedoed and sunk in the final week of the war, right after a secret mission to deliver the detonation charge for the Atomic bomb to Tinian Island. Because of the secrecy, Indy's absence was not discovered by the Navy for days. When search units found the survivors at sea, only 317 of 1,200 remained alive. This is the tragic story of that ship. An inclusive list of ALL sailors before the sinking is included. Commemorative Limited Edition Unit History Book. Many photos.
