PBM MARINER, IN ACTION. Including the Martin P5 Marlin, JRM Mars and P6M Sea Master. Illustrated with 80+ photos and line drawings. Navy Aircraft
This books pays tribute to a great aircraft of the WWII years, the U.S. Navy's PBM Mariner Flying Boats. Built by the Glenn L. Martin Company from 1939 to 1949, the PBM performed various patrol, anti-submarine, and transport roles in every area of the globe. This Squadron/Signal publication (57 pages) does an outstanding job of showing the PBM in action photos. Full-Color plates shows a variety of paint schemes. When the PBM's service life ended, Martin designed and built the XP6M-1 Seamaster, a jet-powered successor to the PBM which the Navy ended early on. However, this book includes several pages and photos of the Seamaster. This is a great book for PBM vets, aviation buffs, and modelers. Softcover.
