Extremely rare; a true collectors book. A memoir and unit history for the 101st Infantry Regiment in WWII. The 101st Infantry Regiment, not to be confused with the 101st Airborne Division, was part of the 26th Infantry Division. This is a narrative of actual experiences of author Major James Hardin, a U.S. officer who served with the British, the Canadians and with the famed U.S. 26th Infantry Division. Includes actual experiences during the Normandy Invasion, the storming of the Siegfried Line, the Battle of the Bulge, the march across Germany, through Austria and finally Czechoslovakia. Among the interesting incidents is a conversation with General George S. Patton, episodes with Russian military personnel, combat, and military government problems. This memoir serves as a telling unit history of the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division.
