Summary: This is the original and "official" unit history for the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II from Casablanca in May 1943 to the Elbe River and Forst Carrenzien in May 1945. North Africa - Sicily - Italy - Normandy - France - Holland - Germany.

Filled with photographs and illustrations, the classic book was first published by Albert Love Enteprises in 1946. First reprinted by Battery Press in 1978, we now offer a 2004 reprint with a distinctive cloth cover presentation.

Covers all attached units including the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion, 740th Tank Battalion, attached Tank Destroyer Battalions, 307th Airborne Engineer Battalion, and other units. The 82d suffered 1,949 KIA and 6,560 WIA.
