Covers the 'BLACKHORSE' 11th Armored Cavalry from its creation as the 11th U.S. Cavalry (horse) in 1901 to fight in the Philippines, to the pursuit of Poncho Villa's bandits in 1916, and on to heavy fighting across Europe during WWII as both the 11th Tank Battalion & the 11th Cavalry Group, then as 11th Constabulary Regiment during the Post-War Occupation and along the Iron Curtain, and finally on to Vietnam as one of the most effective combat units of the conflict.
This fine work includes special stories and exciting first person accounts, plus many brief bios of Blackhorse combat veterans, and over 100 original photographs not published elsewhere. The 11th Armored Cavalry Regimental Commanders in Vietnam included George S. Patton, son of George S. Patton Jr. of WWII fame.
